  • How your work will be assessed

    Assessments  show that  you have met the learning outcomes of your course. Find out about the different types of assessments, due dates, extensions and more.

  • Submitting your assessment

    For most courses, you can submit online from your course page. Find out what you need to check before submitting, including referencing and word limits.

  • Academic Integrity

    Academic Integrity is being honest, respectful  and ethical in your study and assessments. All your submitted assessments must be your own independent work, and you must acknowledge where you have referred to someone else's ideas or words.   • Submitting your work in te reo Māori

    You can submit all or part of your summative assessments in te reo Māori. You'll need to apply at least 4 weeks before your due date and can access the application form here.

  • How to request an assessment extension

    If you need an extension for any reason, you can apply for an extension in My Open Polytechnic.  Find out more about when extensions are approved and how to apply.

  • Special Consideration for in-course assessments

    You can apply for special consideration for in-course assessments if there are exceptional circumstances beyond your control that affected your study and submission of assessments during the course.

  • Word limits and word count guidelines

    Word limits support the development of concise writing skills. Word count guidelines help you to understand the expectation of workload for an assessment.
